The SLUCare Primary Care & Prevention Center
The SLUCare Primary Care & Prevention Center provides high-quality
primary care and preventive services to patients of all ages and
gender. Our primary care providers, family physicians, are extensively trained to manage the health care needs of every family member: children, adolescents,
women, men and older adults.
We care for acute illnesses and chronic diseases as well as for the special
health issues of women and children. Our physicians are
qualified to provide disease prevention and health promotion services
including immunizations, screening tests, lifestyle counseling and
programs on travel medicine, smoking cessation, healthy diets, exercise
and stress reduction. We also perform school and annual physicals and
treat minor emergencies and injuries.
Your Medical Home
Our philosophy is that everyone should have one primary care physician
who cares for the majority of the health care needs of you and your
family. We will make every effort to help you see your physician
when you call for an appointment. However, when your physician is
not available, another one of our physicians will be able to assist
you.
Invest in Your Health
Many people only access physicians and hospitals when they’re
sick. We advocate a very different approach. By making an appointment
with us for a physical exam or preventive medical visit, we can
make recommendations that will decrease your chance of getting sick
in the future. We look forward to helping you not only when you
are sick, but also to improve your health by keeping you well.
Our Open Access System
One of the unique aspects of the Primary Care & Prevention
Center is our open access appointment scheduling system in which
same day appointments are available for everything from an acute
illness to a preventive medical visit. If you call us by 4 p.m.,
we commit to seeing you that day.
