The Independent Laboratories of SLUCare is a full service reference laboratory servicing the needs of physicians, hospitals and managed care organizations nationwide. At The Independent Laboratories of SLUCare is a full range of routine and specialized tests reflecting state-of-the-art laboratory medicine evaluations. In addition to its reference laboratory service, The Pathology Laboratories of SLUCare also provide laboratory support for a 350-bed hospital at the Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center.

The medical directors of The Pathology Independent Laboratories of SLUCare are affiliated with the Department of Pathology and Internal Medicine and participate in teaching, research, and community service. The Pathology Independent Laboratories of SLUCare is also affiliated with the School of Allied Health and contributes to the training of medical technologists and other laboratory professionals.
