The Staff of Cardinal Glennon's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
SLUCare's pediatric critical care physicians provide advanced treatment at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in the PICU for children suffering from a life-threatening illness or injury, or who require intensive care to recover after major surgery.
Our specialists work collaboratively with advanced practice nurses, critical care certified nurses, respiratory therapists, dietitians, child life professionals, pharmacists and social workers to provide the best care possible.
We deliver the latest respiratory, circulatory, renal and neurological management techniques to critically ill children, serving more than 1,000 patients annually in the PICU.
SLUCare critical care pediatricians respond to life-threatening emergencies throughout Cardinal Glennon and lead the hospital's medical response team. We also provide sedation services for routine outpatient and inpatient procedures for some 1,200 patients a year.
